Starting this blog was one of the most important things have done, as being pushed to try something commercial pushed me to understand so much more. And reality is, in modern society most of us do need to work for others in some way, where of course some do need community care, and others may be independently wealthy. But even independently wealthy may feel better off, if do work for others regardless.
Even if you own your own business, if you are not working for your customers then you probably either are not actually running that business or that business will not last.
Supporting community is great, and enjoy that, but making a living is a different kind of thing. As business needs community and businesses support community in their own way, but business reality is rarely community focus if not a non-profit.
Businesses in general are best focused on customers. Communities can then value best businesses that provide valuable and socially acceptable products and services.
The push to work well for others on a global scale, beyond community focus has helped me focus better on what ideas may be useful in ways beyond community purpose.
Which helped me appreciate the global reality of my other blogs, while letting go of vague concerns about how global should intrinsically come attached with a monetary something or other.
Is actually better when it does not.
Where am sure, plenty of money can be made when you bring value to others in an acceptable business process. Where traditional industries more and more are leveraging the web better or being remade through leveraging the web.
Like am sure will become standard eventually that yes, you can book and pay a ride through a smartphone. As why would not business wish to deliver such an added convenience for those who can use? Yeah but consider the fights in that arena where puzzles me, but reference it often now for perspective.
Have three blogs with community focus, and really only need one to focus monetarily.
And this one is that blog.
Here my focus is shifting somewhat as consider lessons learned in what now feels like the quest to monetize ideas as this blog? Is dedicated to being commercial, where made sure to remind myself with the name. And am so glad I did.
Remember at first felt so awkward. But now am used to it--Seriously Commercial. Yup. Helps keep me focused. And of course tells others. Though figuring out the monetization thing, is a work in progress....
In the meantime, so glad still have readers! Continuing interest here is necessary. And so far has been what is needed finally realized. So foundations are there. Just have to figure out the rest.
