Marketplaces and safe space

Have emphasized importance of right to a safe personal space, where being human is enough as more advanced society rejects exceptions, e.g. like for gender. And becoming more sensitive on the subject, I've paid more attention to marketplaces.

Going into some very large facility for a major corporation that sells products or services there are certain things do not expect, like random solicitations.

You know, some person trying to SELL you something? Like say, a religion? Or give you their mixtape?

Oh, um that last one has thankfully died down for me and was never really crazy but in retrospect, was telling. Have had bursts, thankfully brief, of celebrity and your space gets invaded. (Get lots of free things too.)

But in general, well regulated marketplaces work hard to preserve your sense of a safe personal space if you are a decent customer i.e. like, you're not selling a religion to random strangers.

Talk marketplaces lots now and especially here as well regulated ones are where people prefer to buy things. And this blog is meant to be commercial. Where remind myself with the name. But am working still on figuring out the how.

And yeah, in well regulated marketplaces you can ponder having a sense of a safe personal space or notice very quickly if fades rapidly.

Consider, that store where you consistently do not feel safe? Would you keep shopping there?

Promotional Tuesday is when I promote on this blog. Today am promoting awareness in business context, of a safe personal space as a customer.

Promoting business trust

Today is open on this blog which has structure by days, for promoting things including concepts, and realized business trust is a great concept to consider and promote.

Like during these pandemic times it is even more important as, how do you feel SAFE when go into a place of business? Especially when is much less often if social distancing?

Reality for me is, am even more likely now to rely on business trust indicators: like courteous staff, cleanliness, quality of products and certainty business has resources to lessen my likelihood of...but enough in that direction, is depressing talking pandemic things much.

Business trust is easy to talk but hard to get and builds slowly but can collapse rapidly.

But business trust is key to marketplaces and have emphasized web marketplaces as key to web commerce. Where well regulated marketplaces enable trust for customers AND vendors, where may ponder that one carefully.

My favorite example? Human nudity is ok plenty of places, like safely at home taking a bath. In stores? Um, is not usually allowed unless maybe at a nudist colony?

Who enforces though? In the US if a person is impolite when requested to leave, like if nude, law enforcement is likely to be called (which has bizarrely become a political issue here).

There are rules and regulations which govern YOUR behavior in a place of business in the United States.

But what about on a street corner? Buying from a street hustler? Which in MY time growing up in 20th Century meant a shady character selling shady goods usually of very low quality and possibly stolen.

(Did a web search on modern definitions and include mine plus others though.)

Then? You are on your own, God help you.

But to me web now is too limited as markets regulated by governments on web? Where?

Thankfully there are vendors where have business trust. But is just a few, which favors, yup, massive consolidation into a few ultra powerful companies.

And they routinely and arbitrarily limit--consumer choice.

Like consider big web streamers who yank content with little explanation if any. Or products I'd like to buy just not being offered, and where can I go? Where do I have business trust?

Consumers can request it. Governments should regulate marketplaces and the web is just as free with a government regulated portal to a well regulated web marketplace as without.

Like, you would choose to go there, or not. Like you choose to go to a physical business or not.

Would just have more options. And am confident we will get there, eventually. And then in my opinion, the web will finally be fully realized.
