Human beings can do what human beings can do

The web has helped with information in so many ways! We can just see so much more or read so much more or otherwise as information flows, which can help better understand human reality. Like I have an example from my life on what was, even in my own experience, in a world that has gone. As years ago, somewhere around twenty years ago I think, was surprised when talking to a nice woman and guess mentioned going to the beach and she said she thought Black people didn't swim.

As strange as that may sound, and have puzzled over it often through the years, the simplest way I think to think of fellow human beings and what they can or cannot do is that they can do what human beings can do.

Can human beings swim? Yes. So can people of any race or ethnicity swim? Yes.

Easy. And that is such a bizarre example I have to emphasize but race in the US was a lot about delusions, misinformation and people who just didn't know while maybe on some level not really seeing others as being human beings!

And it's a nice check for yourself, if there is something that humans do that you don't think members of some race or ethnicity can do. If there is anything, you're wrong.

Today of course you can just see all kinds of people doing all kinds of things all over the world as it's not about a select set of things allowed by gatekeepers like on television.

But still, how could anyone think that race had anything to do with the ability to swim?

When you probe into these things I think it can get very weird.

And that does have political relevance as well--doing politics is something humans do! And while some may have their doubts on it but seriously yes, getting elected involves humans voting for humans. And it is fascinating to consider how much has shifted in beliefs in recent years just because of what people have seen that before may have thought impossible.

Nothing like reality to check you on such things. And am thankful so much reality has been about what positive things people of all races or nationalities can do, regardless of race or ethnicity.

When people try to insist that human beings can't do something human beings do, then I strongly suggest you question their intellect. If they're using race for such a claim? Then strongly suspect they're questioning the humanity of their target.

And guess what? That human being is STILL human regardless.

Just like you! Be of good cheer fellow human!
